So, when I initially set up my account, I was using the sissify.com FeMail service.  That service abruptly vanished, and now I can’t seem to change the address that notifications are sent to.

Normally, this is a nice security feature that helps stop account stealing, but without access to the original address, I can’t make the change to my new email address.  My settings page displays the following:

There is a pending change of your email address to <new email address>.
Check your email (subsophie@sissify.com) for the verification link, or cancel the pending change.

But of course I can’t do that as the old address is no longer functional.

    Any ideas?

The verification should be sent to your new email. Are you entering the old and new on the correct lines?

OK, I cancelled the old change and went through the process again just to be sure.

The actual change involves editing the email address line in your settings, so I don’t think I can get the order confused.  Also, the warning message on the page had the new email in the correct place.

Thanks for looking at this, I hope we can figure something out.

That’s very strange indeed. I’ve never seen that before on any web site. Did you look in your new email, just to see if the notice appeared there?

Just checked my spam folder to be sure.  Nothing there.  Good idea, though.

Very strange. I’m clueless. I will send Melissa a note about the problem.

Hmm.  I think this is a wordpress update as best I can tell.  Still looking into it…

    Hi Melissa,

Thanks for looking into this.  It seems like an odd process, pretty secure but inconvenient in this situation.
